as always, public feminism post is public
because i didn't already dislike stephen moyer:
.... yeah.
idek.
also, for the record, it's not that difficult or odd for a woman to say that she likes it rough. i'm pretty sure you can use your words to express such sentiments and it's a-okay.
"The thing about vampirism is that it taps into a female point of view – you have an old-fashioned gentleman with manners who is a fucking killer… it's an interesting duality, because in our present society it would be an odd thing for a woman to say, ‘I want my man to be physical with me.' How, as a modern man, can you fucking work that? It's one thing to be polite and gentle… But when do you know it's OK to crawl out of the mud and rape her [as Bill does in one scene]?… It's difficult stuff for a bloke, but a vampire gets away with it…. I think that's the attraction of the show – it's looking back at a romantic time when men were men, but they were still charming." — True Blood's Stephen Moyer

I haven't gotten beyond the first episode, but still. Fail. And people like him?
Also, Moyer is just - ugh. I don't even have words for how much this pissed me off.

Which has me thinking I'm reading it wrong or interpreting it wrong. Am I? Because if I'm not that guy needs a press handler stat, IMO.

Is this guy an actor or a writer or what? In any case

bill didn't rape her during that graveyard sex scene. she seemed to like it very much and her only complaint was that she didn't want to be bitten in the same place since that spot was sore or something.
stephen needs to stfu, though. like really.

Bill is such an asshole in the books, and it annoys me that he not only isn't in the show, but that the other two men are more so to help raise up Bill...

Oh, wait. We already tried that one. It didn't take.
I knew absolutely nothing about Stephen Moyer before, so I didn't know I needed to dislike him BUT NOW I TOTALLY DO.
I just...how am I supposed to respond to this? I know a lot of people think this way, and that's scary and disgusting enough, but to actually SAY IT? WHO DOES THAT?
So now in addition to ranting after every episode about how annoyingly chauvinist it is that BILL MUST PROTECT SOOKIE all the time, I now get to hate the actor, too? OH JOY.

i hate the bill and sookeh show - i just watch for everyone else. jessica is a fierce HBIC, oh yes.

You are definitely winning my appropriate icon award this week.
Me, too. How is it possible that literally every single other character on the show is more interesting than those two?
YES, YES. I want a Jessica show. In which Jessica is fierce one minute and sweeter than cotton candy with Hoyt the next.
