Harry Potter Non-Canon Ships Comment Ficathon
THE RULES ARE THUS:
1. WHAT MAKES A NON-CANON SHIP? Anything that is not at least one-sided in the books. This means that Snape/Lily is canon, even if she may (or may not) have ever reciprocated. Bellatrix/Voldemort is canon. Lavendar/Ron is canon. Obviously everyone who's married and/or dates is canon. OBHWF is canon, Harry/Cho is canon. Ships that are not stated as fact in the books are not canon. That means UC ships are good, slash is good, femslash is good. For our purposes, we are not counting JKR's interviews as canon. That means that if you wanted to prompt, say, who knows, Hannah/Neville, you could, because it's not in the text itself.
2. You leave a comment with a pairing and a prompt. You respond to prompts that you like. Your prompt must pertain to a non-canon ship. You may specify a character within that ship if you want the fic written from that characters perspective. You may also specify a timeline if you'd like, or if you want it to take place in the movie!verse.
3. When writing fic, put in your title SHIP - TITLE OF FIC (rating optional). This will help us archive if we later archive things. I don't have time to archive anything right now, but if someone wants to volunteer, we can make that happen.
4. LEAVE FEEDBACK. Comments are the lifeblood of the internet.
5. NO WANK. I'll delete your ass. And we're dealing with ships and I am deletion happy, so watch yourself.
6. There will be spoilers for the movie all over this post, I am sure. You have been warned.
7. Promote this if you please. You can use this code:

Date: 2010-11-28 05:37 am (UTC)I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light
He's gotta be sure
And it's gotta be soon
And he's gotta be larger than life
Tonight
Date: 2010-12-07 04:47 am (UTC)Harry has been my hero since my first Halloween as a witch, the one clearly bookmarked in my mind with a troll. I have always thought him brave and a wonderful wizard, but I've never seen Harry as a hero on the global, Boy Who Lived, save-civilization-as-we-know-it level. Not since I met him on the train and saw what a scraggly boy the Chosen One actually turned out to be. To me, he's always been my Harry and my hero, not the world's Harry and the world's hero.
Ron and I emerge from the Chamber of Secrets having destroyed the soul fragment housed in Ravenclaw's diadem. It feels so wrong to call it a soul, having been so fragmented beyond recognition as a soul. The battle rages on around us, friends falling, our beloved castle home increasingly pockmarked and scarred by errant spells.
In the midst of battle, I glance out across the Great Lawn, toward the Forbidden Forest, and part of me is certain that I see Harry. Harry…there was something off about Harry earlier. He was holding something back from us, I've known him too long to miss the signs. Something important.
Tonight's the night my Harry, my hero must become the world's Harry, the world's hero. Tonight, we will fight with every breath in our bodies, holding out hope that Harry knows what he's doing, holding out hope that when dawn comes, Harry will have saved the world. I know Harry has this hero in him, but Harry must be sure of that hero, even more sure than I am.
Time is running short, but I fight with hope that Harry will emerge as my hero, whom I have always known him to be. Tonight, I will share my Harry, my hero with the world. He will save the world. He will become the chocolate-frog-card hero, the larger-than-life figure, instead of the skinny seventeen-year-old I know him to be.
He will save the world tonight, and with the dawn tomorrow, we will finally return to the most important battle of all, where I am Harry's hero and he is mine, where we save one another from our pasts, from our loneliness, from our nightmares, and from our pain.
