Harry Potter Non-Canon Ships Comment Ficathon

THE RULES ARE THUS:

1. WHAT MAKES A NON-CANON SHIP? Anything that is not at least one-sided in the books. This means that Snape/Lily is canon, even if she may (or may not) have ever reciprocated. Bellatrix/Voldemort is canon. Lavendar/Ron is canon. Obviously everyone who's married and/or dates is canon. OBHWF is canon, Harry/Cho is canon. Ships that are not stated as fact in the books are not canon. That means UC ships are good, slash is good, femslash is good. For our purposes, we are not counting JKR's interviews as canon. That means that if you wanted to prompt, say, who knows, Hannah/Neville, you could, because it's not in the text itself.

2. You leave a comment with a pairing and a prompt. You respond to prompts that you like. Your prompt must pertain to a non-canon ship. You may specify a character within that ship if you want the fic written from that characters perspective. You may also specify a timeline if you'd like, or if you want it to take place in the movie!verse.

3. When writing fic, put in your title SHIP - TITLE OF FIC (rating optional). This will help us archive if we later archive things. I don't have time to archive anything right now, but if someone wants to volunteer, we can make that happen.

4. LEAVE FEEDBACK. Comments are the lifeblood of the internet.

5. NO WANK. I'll delete your ass. And we're dealing with ships and I am deletion happy, so watch yourself.

6. There will be spoilers for the movie all over this post, I am sure. You have been warned.

"I'm doing this for him," Zabini tells you, his dark hand on the doorknob that leads out of his and yours and Draco's flat. He looks tired, like the worn suitcase in his other hand. You've never really liked Blaise Zabini, selfish git that he is (You can't help but remember the first time you walked in on him and Draco, right there on the living room sofa. You'll never come back from work early again.) but you never really expected him to leave.

"He'll be...devastated," you manage to spit out, not meeting the other man's eyes.

"Really, Potter? You think he'll be all that torn up with you hanging around all the time, just waiting for him to come around?"

You don't say anything, because the tiny part of you that’s a Parseltongue, that isn’t Boy-Who-Lived-Saint-Potter, wants Zabini to go.

(Most of you wants this, really. It’s gotten so easy to lie to yourself these days.)

The other (smaller) part of you—the good part, the part that saved Gabrielle Delacour from the mermaids back in fourth year (almost the worst year of your life, except you’ve had too many bad years to classify them)—thinks that maybe you’re being the selfish git in this equation, that you should be the one doing something for Draco.

Blaise leaves then, shutting the door behind him, and you let him go.

omg YES! I've had a crush on Charlie Weasely since he was introduced! I know we don't get a lot of characterization but I think you nailed him. I wish they would have added him to the movies.

*presses hand to heart*

This was pretty much perfect.

We honestly don't really get much dialogue from these kids so we're sort of free, there.

Thank you so much for writing this. I know H/Hr lends itself really well to angst, but I so wanted something happy for these two. I loved it. From beginning to end, amazing.

I don't know if this is what you had in mind, but I saw this prompt and I had to do it. This is my first HP fic in 3 years, so it might not be perfect, but I hope you enjoy it anyway.

They are masters at hiding their gazes. No one ever sees. Just a few quick seconds, nothing more, nothing less. No one could ever know, it would break hearts; it’s their secret to keep forever.

They left their hearts buried somewhere in the forest.

And then it happens, one of them slips. It was bound to happen. Ten years of hiding. Ten years of longing. It became too much to keep.

It’s her wedding anniversary, a big party was insisted upon. God knows everyone was ecstatic when they reached the milestone (no one would ever have said out loud, but the bet had been on five years or less).

They are careful to stay far away from each other, very careful. But it’s Ron’s suggestion; “why don’t you go dance with Harry.” He thinks it’s innocent enough, she knows better.

As luck would have it when she pulls him out to the dance floor their song comes on; the one they danced too so long ago, hidden away in the forest, before she suggested that they could stay there forever.

He takes great care not to look her in the eyes, for that would give it all away. They haven’t been this close in forever. It was too dangerous, it is too dangerous. He can feel his own wife’s eyes on him; they’re burning into the back of his head screaming go on, I dare you.

They pull away at the same time and her eyes meet his. Instead of looking away like he knows he should, he holds her gaze. It’s only seconds but it seems like hours, days, months…

It could have been us…

The thought dangles in the air between them, taunting them. Someone coughs, they realize all eyes are on them; everyone is looking, everyone knows.

Their hearts aren’t buried in the forest anymore.
