Because they're like that - all fragile and breakable and unlike all other ot3s I'm pretty much all about her needing both of them in different ways. In good ways.

She thinks, No, you will be a great father, and I will try to learn.
Yes. Yes a million times.
Also, I sort of don't like any THG fanfic ever except I WOULD like one by you.
