This is the first Mrs Everdeen fic I've read, and it is stunning! My heart breaks for her, having to suffer the loss of her love and her children and feel so helpless throughout it all. You write her pain well. The last paragraph just hurts because you know it's not true, but you can see how Penelope wants it so badly to be.
