Harry Potter Non-Canon Ships Comment Ficathon
THE RULES ARE THUS:
1. WHAT MAKES A NON-CANON SHIP? Anything that is not at least one-sided in the books. This means that Snape/Lily is canon, even if she may (or may not) have ever reciprocated. Bellatrix/Voldemort is canon. Lavendar/Ron is canon. Obviously everyone who's married and/or dates is canon. OBHWF is canon, Harry/Cho is canon. Ships that are not stated as fact in the books are not canon. That means UC ships are good, slash is good, femslash is good. For our purposes, we are not counting JKR's interviews as canon. That means that if you wanted to prompt, say, who knows, Hannah/Neville, you could, because it's not in the text itself.
2. You leave a comment with a pairing and a prompt. You respond to prompts that you like. Your prompt must pertain to a non-canon ship. You may specify a character within that ship if you want the fic written from that characters perspective. You may also specify a timeline if you'd like, or if you want it to take place in the movie!verse.
3. When writing fic, put in your title SHIP - TITLE OF FIC (rating optional). This will help us archive if we later archive things. I don't have time to archive anything right now, but if someone wants to volunteer, we can make that happen.
4. LEAVE FEEDBACK. Comments are the lifeblood of the internet.
5. NO WANK. I'll delete your ass. And we're dealing with ships and I am deletion happy, so watch yourself.
6. There will be spoilers for the movie all over this post, I am sure. You have been warned.
7. Promote this if you please. You can use this code:
For text link:
In the image code box, you can use any of the banners below or the lead banner at the top of the post.

harry/cho, false bravado, pg
She's coming off her third husband, two of them were Muggles, one a Squib. She tired of magic quickly, a whole other story. He's tied to the same woman as ever.
They're in a Muggle grocery store. Cho has shopped here since Husband One, and Harry comes here when he needs to think, knows it's the only place where His World can't find him. Their carts bump in the produce aisle. They've never crossed paths before. Though Harry wonders if he'd have even noticed. Maybe she's thinking the same thing.
They stare for awhile, taking note of what's before them. They see something they don't want to name, caught off guard. Stripped bare faces and vulnerable eyes. This is not what they world is meant to see.
The world says - she looks beautiful, flawless. She is a model, a socialite, the new face of Magic. Pureblood, but a flawed enough family tree that it was okay to mention it. She cuts ribbons and makes speeches and smiles all the time. And she still has all the reasons to hate and love him at the same time. She's not foolish enough to think that her fame isn't tied to his. That it's no coincidence every article or interview always ended with the same question. Did you really date Harry Potter?. Ended with the same old answers, yes and then lies pushed through her teeth.
The world says he looks strong, confident. He walks down the street with his head high and shoulders back. Laughs with his sons and daughter. Teases his wife. He is the face of the New World -- His World --as they call it sometimes. The question comes up every once and awhile. Cho Chang, huh? and Harry still thinks it's absurd. Still hesitates and then smiles politely and says wonderful things about her. Leaves enough out because he's guilty on so many different fronts.
The world sees perfect, but they see better. They are not beautiful or strong. They are tired and weary. And maybe the world got it without knowing what it was onto. Maybe they saw something they weren't aware of. Because they stare at each other for minutes without a word and it's like looking into a mirror.
They died at fifteen. Lost loves and lost lives and sacrificed large parts of them to a bigger purpose they didn't sign up for. No matter how strong they look to everyone else, they can't escape it here with each other. The idea that they are filling up their lives with empty noise.
The irony is all too much.
She breaks the silence first, asks tentatively how have you been?
And he's gotten better at reading people, better at reading women, so he tells the truth and knows she'll understand. same as you
He expects her to start crying (old habits), but instead he sees something click in her eyes and then she smiles. His own grin is a reflex.
They share their first real smile of the decade.
