I agree. Before the epilogue Deathly Hallows was doing just fine and being absolutely wonderful and I was in love. Still am in love. But that epilogue is out of place. It shits on Harry and Hermione and the connection and relationship they have. It shits on all the characters. They are more complex than they are shown to be there. They are better than that. Why does it exist? Why? Even as a snapshot of one particular moment in their lives it does not work because it presents itself as a summary of these people's lives post-war. Which, no. No no no. I hate it so much. Kills the fandom and disrespects the readers and the characters. No no no. DO not want.
IT IS PERFECT. YOU SHOULD BE PROUD. Ginevra does not have a happy existence, there is no way. And I can see she and Ron having those conversations so clearly because while the trio is my ship numero uno, Harry/Hermione is where I (heavily heavily) lean. That article explains why so well. It is perfect. Their love, whether you want to call it platonic or romantic or whatever, really is different (which is how I see the trio functioning as a unit, too). It is greater and more real and pure and important than anything else. They are wonderful. And my mother and I had a conversation and she just kept asking what Hermione sees in Ron. And I could respond with his humor and his heart, but it doesn't really compare to what she sees in Harry. It is not the same, thus the leaning, Because she and Harry just work on this different level, as you said. And it is so obvious and what are they but their own. They put hearts in my eyes. Need to reread the books, need to reread ootp.
haha omg. That is the greatest fb default I think I have ever seen. I am glad you regret nothing.
