yes. yes. no one ever talks about it, and i think that's partly because europe has less of a racial focus than the us. but it can't be a non-issue. identity issues everywhere. and britain and china have a ridiculous history. And it's like the wizarding world is this bubble and so like, I think it must feel even more isolating because they're the only poc. THEY'RE THE ONLY POC. and to my knowledge, cho chang is the only east asian girl at hogwarts so like. i want to know what her parents think. i want to know how chinese she thinks she is. and like, i want to know this for the patils too because hi, who am i, but someone else should tell me what to think about the patils because they're south asian and therefore, whole other ball game, but same general bag of issues, and one of the patils is in ravenclaw. so like. do they just get together every once in a while? or even like cho and lee, who are really two awesome poc who become part of the resistance while harry's gone. i want to know what they think about this war. because while they're safe in this war because it's about magic, they have to be aware about the color lines that exist. they have to because there's so few poc at hogwarts. it fascinates me. is there a super secret club? like what do they do? how do they voice any feelings they have about this?
