HARRY POTTER NON-CANON SHIPS COMMENT FICATHON

Banner by [livejournal.com profile] operatingroom

Harry Potter Non-Canon Ships Comment Ficathon

THE RULES ARE THUS:

1. WHAT MAKES A NON-CANON SHIP? Anything that is not at least one-sided in the books. This means that Snape/Lily is canon, even if she may (or may not) have ever reciprocated. Bellatrix/Voldemort is canon. Lavendar/Ron is canon. Obviously everyone who's married and/or dates is canon. OBHWF is canon, Harry/Cho is canon. Ships that are not stated as fact in the books are not canon. That means UC ships are good, slash is good, femslash is good. For our purposes, we are not counting JKR's interviews as canon. That means that if you wanted to prompt, say, who knows, Hannah/Neville, you could, because it's not in the text itself.

2. You leave a comment with a pairing and a prompt. You respond to prompts that you like. Your prompt must pertain to a non-canon ship. You may specify a character within that ship if you want the fic written from that characters perspective. You may also specify a timeline if you'd like, or if you want it to take place in the movie!verse.

3. When writing fic, put in your title SHIP - TITLE OF FIC (rating optional). This will help us archive if we later archive things. I don't have time to archive anything right now, but if someone wants to volunteer, we can make that happen.

4. LEAVE FEEDBACK. Comments are the lifeblood of the internet.

5. NO WANK. I'll delete your ass. And we're dealing with ships and I am deletion happy, so watch yourself.

6. There will be spoilers for the movie all over this post, I am sure. You have been warned.

7. Promote this if you please. You can use this code:

Albus Dumbledore/Tom Riddle- Dead End Choices Part 1

[identity profile] reeby10.livejournal.com 2010-12-01 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Er... sorry this isn't really what you wanted, but this is what came out. I hope someone else will pick up the prompt because it really is a great one!

---

Mrs. Cole was surprised when a arrived at the orphanage and asked to speak with her. He was dressed nicely, much too nicely for the part of London where they were, and she had a feeling he wasn't looking to adopt one of her charges. She stood as he entered her office. “What can I do for you?”

“My name is Albus Dumbledore, Mrs. Cole. I'm a professor at a school that deals with children who are... different. We would like to offer one of your wards a place in our school,” the man said, smiling brightly.

“Tom Riddle, you mean?” she asked immediately. He nodded. “And your school wants him? They will have to pay for everything since he has no money of his own and the orphanage is not in the business of sending the children away for schooling.”

“Of course,” Dumbledore said, inclining his head “The school will take care of everything. The only stipulation is that he will have to stay here for the summers.”

“Just the summers?” Mrs. Cole asked. “I'm sure we can handle that. He's yours, Mr. Dumbledore.” Tom Riddle was the strangest boy she had ever met and if this man wanted him for some school and the orphanage wouldn't have to pay for it then she was sold. “I'll take you to him right now.”

The two made their way down a dank hall. Children peaked out of rooms but Mrs. Cole ignored them, though Dumbledore sent them small smiles. They came to the room at the end of the hallway and Mrs. Cole gave the door a knock before opening it. “Tom, there's a man here to see you. He would like to offer you a place at his school.”

Inside the room, a small dark haired boy sat facing the window. He turned when the door was opened and Dumbledore was struck by how fragile and beautiful he was.

Dumbledore turned to Mrs. Cole and inclined his head. “Thank you for your help, Mrs. Cole. Now may I have a word alone with him? I believe there is much for Mr. Riddle and I to discuss,” Dumbledore said, smiling. She blushed lightly and nodded. In moments she was gone and the door closed.

“Now we can get down to business,” Dumbledore said, looking at the dark haired boy across the room. He stared for a moment before shaking himself slightly. There were still matters to be discussed. “I suppose I should introduce myself properly, shouldn't I? My name is Professor Albus Dumbledore and I work at a school that would very much like you to attend it.”

Riddle looked at him, suspicion obvious in his eyes. “What kind of school is it and why in the world would they want me?” he asked, young voice clear and cold.

Dumbledore smiled, stepping closer. “The school is Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.” He paused as the young boy's eyes widened in shock. “Yes, my boy, I am a wizard and so are you.”

“Prove it,” Riddle ordered, eyes deadly serious and voice infused with authority. Dumbledore smiled, amused by the amateur display of power, and with a wave of his wand the armoire in the corner was on fire. The black haired boy jumped to his feet, mouth open to shout, when suddenly the fire was gone. He turned slowly, glaring at the older wizard. “All of my things are in there. They had better not be damaged.”

“Not at all!” Dumbledore said cheerfully, apparently unaware of the anger directed at him. “It was merely to prove I am telling the truth. You will find that all of your belongings are quite intact.”

With a suspicious glance at the older man, Riddle walked to the armoire. He opened the door and indeed, nothing inside was burned. “Fine. I suppose there is no choice but to believe you.” He paused for a moment as if thinking over his options. “However, there is one problem. As you have probably noticed I have no money. How am I to pay for your... school?” he asked, voice bitter as he turned to face the professor.

“Ah yes, I thought this might come up. There is one way for you to... pay your tuition,” Dumbledore replied, moving closer to the boy, eying the young body appreciatively. “It really is not very difficult. It could even be... enjoyable for us both.” By this time he was standing not six inches from Riddle, one hand reaching out to caress the boy's pale skin.

Riddle's eyes widened and he jerked back as he realized what the other was implying. “Never,” he spit out, face twisted in disgust.

The corners of Dumbledore's mouth twitched up slightly and he moved a step back. “Then I suppose there is nothing more for us to discuss. I'm sure your life will be just as pleasant here.” He turned and began walking to the door, not looking at the boy.

“Fine!” Riddle shouted, just as Dumbledore reached to open the door. “I'll... I'll do whatever you say if only to be rid of this place.” His fists clenched in anger but he held himself in check.

Dumbledore smiled and closed the door, walking back to the young wizard. “I knew you would see it my way,” he said jovially. With a wave of his wand the door locked with an ominous click and the sounds from outside muffled. “Come, my boy. This will be much more pleasant on the bed.”

Body tense and eyes bright with hate, Riddle walked over to the bed and sat. “Why,” he whispered, more to himself than the older man, as he was pushed to lay on his back.

Dumbledore waved his wand and Riddle's clothes were gone. He gave a small, sad smile as he looked at the boy's perfect, milky skin. “The flesh is weak, my boy, the flesh is weak.”

Drabble Fill Molly/Lucius - Untitled

She hesitated outside the Prefect’s Bathroom. He was in there. She wanted to turn away, keep walking, meet with Arthur in the Common Room… but something in her tugged her to the bathroom. A shared look this morning, a brush of fingers in Potions. He was always subtle when he was trying to get something from her.

She hated how he didn’t even have to try hard to get her where he wanted her.

She hated him. He hated her, she was very sure of it. But… that elegance. That danger. That tongue

She opened the door and stepped inside.

Harry/Cedric, Two Boys Living, pg-13

[identity profile] downjune.livejournal.com 2010-12-02 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
this prompt is gorgeous and i had to write something for it:)

Toasts, thankfully, bridged the gap between Muggle and Wizard. Everyone knew how to make them and when to drink, even the barmy old witch in the corner under a Notice-me-not charm. Harry raised his champagne flute to the bride and groom and drank with the other guests -- a diverse bunch, half of whom had no clue just how diverse.

Ginny was kissing Dean, her arm slung around his neck, keeping him flush against her. She looked bloody gorgeous in her dress, her train already hitched up for the dancing about to commence. Dean looked equally dashing in his tuxedo, though he wasn't paying it any mind, his eyes drinking in the sight of his new wife as she kissed him, drank with him, tugged him from table to table greeting guests. Harry didn't think Dean had blinked more than a handful of times all afternoon.

"Does it make you just the slightest bit ill to see them so happy?"

Harry turned in his seat and raised his glass again to Cedric's, offering him a small smile. "Are you jealous, Diggory?"

Cedric shrugged and clinked his glass with Harry's. "Maybe a little. We're not likely to see this sort of celebration, this easy happiness. You could have had it, if you'd wanted."

Harry considered this for the length of time it took him to down the rest of his champagne: an enormous family, Quidditch whenever he wanted, a good friend for a wife, the chance to be the kind of father he'd always wanted.

"You know she loved you."

Harry carefully returned his glass to the table and pulled his chair closer to Cedric. "I thought I did, too, when we were sixteen." He slid his hand underneath the table cloth, to Cedric's knee and up his thigh. "I've been with you almost ten years, which, I shouldn't have to tell you, is a bit longer."

Cedric's smile was quick and breathtaking, that easy, self-deprecating flash of white teeth and lowered eyelashes. Harry still reflexively smiled at the sight of it.

Over the stereo, Dean's favorite James Brown song started, getting nearly everyone out of their seats and onto the dance floor. Harry wouldn't have even known about James Brown if it weren't for Dean. The Durselys' taste in music and film had been rubbish, so Harry owed most of his knowledge of Muggle pop culture to Dean. He caught sight of Ron and Hermione dancing crazily together and grinned. Hermione knew all the words.

Cedric's hand squeezed his own and Harry jerked his eyes away from the crowded dance floor. "See that?" Cedric's eyebrows lifted into another of his most charming expressions; his 'I'm worried but still smiling' look. "That, I can't give you, Harry."

Twining their fingers together even tighter, Harry met Cedric's dark eyes. "Ced. The hardest working man in show-business does not need me to dance at this wedding reception."

"What?"

"Nothing, just--"

"Is that a Muggle reference?"

"Yes. James Brown is... Look, really, it doesn't matter." He stood, pulling Cedric up with him. "Come with me, okay?"

"Where are we going?"

"You'll see; just get your cane."

Cedric fumbled a moment with it, fitting the cuff around his elbow and getting a firm grip on the handle before signaling to Harry that he was ready. Then, together, they made their way out from under the tent full of wedding guests to the house behind it -- an uncle of Dean's, Harry had heard.

Cedric's limp was pronounced, awkward and heavy. Harry had adjusted his own gate years ago to match his partner's; he'd grown used to getting everywhere more slowly if they couldn't Apparate or use the floo network. Cedric hated it, hated his cane, hated his right leg, but he hated them less when Harry was with him.

They made their way up the stairs and into the house, nodding and smiling at the guests coming out of the downstairs toilet. Up another set of stairs, and they found themselves in a long hallway with open doors on both sides.

"I have an idea where this is going, Harry, and I'm not sure we should be canoodling in the spare room at your ex-girlfriend's wedding." Cedric cast a sidelong glance at him and Harry's grin was enormous.

"Your g-rated vocabulary is one of my favorite things about you."

"Harry, I'm serious."

Then, to prove that he was as well, Harry hustled his lover back and down onto the bed, careful of his leg, but not so careful that Cedric didn't land with a surprised 'oof!' Kneeling between Cedric's legs, he pressed his thigh to Cedric's groin.

"You always get like this when our straight friends marry," Harry murmured. "And I always have to seduce you in a guest room."

Cedric grunted, meeting Harry's gaze and rolling his hips up for more friction. "Maybe I do it on purpose, then."

Leaning down, Harry kissed Cedric hard and quick on the mouth, exhaling sharply through his nose. He spoke against Cedric's lips. "I owe you everything. You changed my life when you did what you did for me. But I'm yours because I love you."

He could feel Cedric's smile and see it in the corners of his eyes. "Say that again, please."

Harry's next kiss was slow and gentle, and it left Cedric's mouth wet. "I love you. Loved you since I dragged you out of that cemetery, probably."

Cedric gripped the back of Harry's neck, keeping him close enough that his breath huffed warmly on Cedric's face. "I didn't know that. You've never told me that."

Harry felt his ears warm. "I was only fourteen, and you were seventeen and beautiful."

The fingers of Cedric's free hand slid up the back of Harry's thigh to his groin and took a hold of him through his trousers. Cedric's guileless smile turned distinctly predatory. "And you were sodding Harry Potter. I'd have compromised my image for you in a heartbeat."

Harry let his already wobbly elbows give way and collapsed on top of his lover. "A heartbeat?" he echoed.

Cedric levered himself up on his elbows and neatly flipped Harry onto his back. Then Cedric stretched out over him, tangling their legs together and pinning Harry's hands over his head. "A heartbeat, Harry Potter."

This is outstanding. Just gorgeous and wonderful.

I can see it as canon that Harry is there when Hermione first gives birth, not Ron.

My favorite line nearly stopped my heart.
You wonder if someday you will die for this boy who lived. They will bury you in satin, you think, and your scars will bear a silent witness that you were, perhaps, in love with an impossible boy who (somehow) taught you so much more than books ever could.
