Harry Potter Non-Canon Ships Comment Ficathon

THE RULES ARE THUS:

1. WHAT MAKES A NON-CANON SHIP? Anything that is not at least one-sided in the books. This means that Snape/Lily is canon, even if she may (or may not) have ever reciprocated. Bellatrix/Voldemort is canon. Lavendar/Ron is canon. Obviously everyone who's married and/or dates is canon. OBHWF is canon, Harry/Cho is canon. Ships that are not stated as fact in the books are not canon. That means UC ships are good, slash is good, femslash is good. For our purposes, we are not counting JKR's interviews as canon. That means that if you wanted to prompt, say, who knows, Hannah/Neville, you could, because it's not in the text itself.

2. You leave a comment with a pairing and a prompt. You respond to prompts that you like. Your prompt must pertain to a non-canon ship. You may specify a character within that ship if you want the fic written from that characters perspective. You may also specify a timeline if you'd like, or if you want it to take place in the movie!verse.

3. When writing fic, put in your title SHIP - TITLE OF FIC (rating optional). This will help us archive if we later archive things. I don't have time to archive anything right now, but if someone wants to volunteer, we can make that happen.

4. LEAVE FEEDBACK. Comments are the lifeblood of the internet.

5. NO WANK. I'll delete your ass. And we're dealing with ships and I am deletion happy, so watch yourself.

Funny you should say that, cause I didn't believe in OT3s -like I had never shipped any- before James/Sirius/Lily so they're all kinds of special to me. I LOVE THEM FIERCELY.

yes. ravenclaws who fight are my favorites. luna fucking lovegood appreciation life. i also wonder on a certain level how race functions in there because no one ever comments on it but we only see the perspective of white people so i'm like, how does this even work? does the wizarding world conceptualize race the way we do? WHY ARE THERE NO POC AT HOGWARTS. questions i have.

no, cho chang is the best character. i know more about cho chang in those 25 pages than i know about any other female character except maybe hermione but even hermione i have to fudge around a bit to get. you know my feelings on this.

Well, I'm not revealing my first OT3, but my friends actually eased me into the notion. My favourite thing about OT3s in HP fandom, is that my idea of them is less about "oooh, sexy and forbidden", it's more about the level of trust and intimacy of the friendships that just lends itself to things bleeding over and becoming something a little left of just friendship.

Which is how I see James/Sirius/Lily. It's not about the sexy, forbidden aspect of having sex with more than one person, or the 'infidelity' aspect, it's about loving someone so much, and having them be such an integral, trusted piece of your life, that when something shifts and things involve a romantic level of intimacy, it just feels right instead of wrong.

I love this line:

And I love that you worked in the time turner, which is something I think about with them all the time.

The pain, the unrest, I cant stand it. The last paragraph, especially, was made of gold!

(Also, Ive always wondered why everyone assumed that Harry was okay with Ron/Hermione, I always felt he was a little resentful and... sad)

She’s the one who has to teach Draco how to kill, naturally.

The punishment for defying and/or disappointing Lord Voldemort is very strict, one that he knows the sufferer will not forget. And her Lord knows just how much she absolutely despises whiny, sniveling brats who don’t know what’s good for them. Which is why he left her to do this instead of Lucius or Cissa.

You must give him character, Bellatrix, he said. You are one of my most loyal followers, and I trust that you will teach Draco well.

(Meanwhile, back at the peanut gallery in the dungeon, she’s thisclose to slapping the insolent boy in the face and telling him to get back up.)

“I don’t want to do this, Bella. Please. I’ve never harmed anyone in my life. Why can’t father do it? He’s the one who sinned.”

“Because, idiot, it will give you character. Get. Up.”

He doesn’t, and she makes her move, relishing the excuse to use the Cruciatus Curse on him when suddenly he just so happens to gain his strength and raise his wand.

Sectumsempra.

She dodges in time and he just cuts her arm, barely, but she smashes into the wall and snaps the wrist on her wand hand in the process. Draco, the stupid idiot, stands there in shock of what he’s done.

Then his eyes darken, realizing what he’s done, and rushes over to help.

(At the same time, almost, they both realize he likes inflicting pain just as much as she does. Especially on her. And that they both like the pain.)

He helps her up, mutters a spell to fix it and the cut. Places a rough kiss to her cheek when he’s finished.

They stare at each other like starved cats. “Come on, Aunt Bella, play with me again. I don’t think you can handle it.”

You have no idea, boy, she thinks, as she raises her wand to fight him again. You have no idea what you’re up against.

(Maybe her Lord wasn’t thinking properly when he punished her, because this punishment is pleasure.)

He grows stronger when he plays, only becoming a sniveling weakling when their Lord turns his eyes on them and asks if he is ready. Bellatrix answers no, obviously.

They play for days, weeks, long after he is declared fit to kill. Their games get rougher, more dominant, until finally they find themselves on the floor doing what no aunt should be doing to their nephew.

They make each other bleed, they sew each other up. It’s a beautiful, never-ending cycle of the thrilling high of violence.

(The game continues until the day she dies.)

yes. yes. no one ever talks about it, and i think that's partly because europe has less of a racial focus than the us. but it can't be a non-issue. identity issues everywhere. and britain and china have a ridiculous history. And it's like the wizarding world is this bubble and so like, I think it must feel even more isolating because they're the only poc. THEY'RE THE ONLY POC. and to my knowledge, cho chang is the only east asian girl at hogwarts so like. i want to know what her parents think. i want to know how chinese she thinks she is. and like, i want to know this for the patils too because hi, who am i, but someone else should tell me what to think about the patils because they're south asian and therefore, whole other ball game, but same general bag of issues, and one of the patils is in ravenclaw. so like. do they just get together every once in a while? or even like cho and lee, who are really two awesome poc who become part of the resistance while harry's gone. i want to know what they think about this war. because while they're safe in this war because it's about magic, they have to be aware about the color lines that exist. they have to because there's so few poc at hogwarts. it fascinates me. is there a super secret club? like what do they do? how do they voice any feelings they have about this?

They are in the room of requirement. It has taken on the shape of a large liquor cabinet and Lily is there, with them, turning her neck up high as if she is aware that this is some sort of breach, some sort of trespass into their sacred boys club but she doesn't care that she's doing it.

"I didn't like James."

Sirius laughs, swallows the rest of his drink.

"I find it hard to believe you had so sudden a change of heart."

"Oh really?"

His face is close to hers.

"I think you were just playing hard to get."

"Oh really."

It happens for the first time that night, in the room, with Remus and Peter off to their beds and the lamps turned low and he has a hard time believing that no one outside can hear them.

"It's not strange for you, is it?"

"What isn't?"

James is smoothing his hair down his forehead before a cracked mirror. He frowns.

"Us-- doing this."

He kisses him, quick and sharp and laughs when Sirius looks surprised.

"It's fine."

He is with them when she finds out she's pregnant.

"I'm going to kill you," she hisses.

"Which one?" James is lazily spinning a snitch around in his fingers.

"Whichever one of you knocked me up."

He blanches.

"It had better not be Padfoot's."

"Lily Black. Can you imagine?"

"I'd rather not."

"Yeah, me neither."

They never learn their lesson.

On their marriage bed, three pairs of limbs fit better than two.
