Harry Potter Non-Canon Ships Comment Ficathon

THE RULES ARE THUS:

1. WHAT MAKES A NON-CANON SHIP? Anything that is not at least one-sided in the books. This means that Snape/Lily is canon, even if she may (or may not) have ever reciprocated. Bellatrix/Voldemort is canon. Lavendar/Ron is canon. Obviously everyone who's married and/or dates is canon. OBHWF is canon, Harry/Cho is canon. Ships that are not stated as fact in the books are not canon. That means UC ships are good, slash is good, femslash is good. For our purposes, we are not counting JKR's interviews as canon. That means that if you wanted to prompt, say, who knows, Hannah/Neville, you could, because it's not in the text itself.

2. You leave a comment with a pairing and a prompt. You respond to prompts that you like. Your prompt must pertain to a non-canon ship. You may specify a character within that ship if you want the fic written from that characters perspective. You may also specify a timeline if you'd like, or if you want it to take place in the movie!verse.

3. When writing fic, put in your title SHIP - TITLE OF FIC (rating optional). This will help us archive if we later archive things. I don't have time to archive anything right now, but if someone wants to volunteer, we can make that happen.

4. LEAVE FEEDBACK. Comments are the lifeblood of the internet.

5. NO WANK. I'll delete your ass. And we're dealing with ships and I am deletion happy, so watch yourself.

6. There will be spoilers for the movie all over this post, I am sure. You have been warned.

A loud pounding wakes Hermione from her deep slumber. She quickly pulls on a robe, then opens the door.

One look at him, and she knows that Harry is drunk. He's clutching an almost empty bottle of firewhiskey like it was his lifeline.

"Were we in love?"

"Harry..."

"Maybe we should have been. You were always there, more than anyone. We were alone in that tent, Hermione. Do you ever think about what could have happened?" He takes another swig from the bottle, but his eyes never leave hers.

"But I'm with Ron and you-you're with Ginny," Hermione says softly. She knows that it is no use arguing with a drunk man, but somehow she has to say something. Something to make her feel like she's not being disloyal.

He kisses her. It's a sloppy, wet and warm kiss, over almost as soon as it begins.

"I wish I could have loved you," he whispers hoarsely.

In the morning, they will pretend like it never happened.

OMG THIS IS SO PERFECT IT'S ALMOST CREEPY.

As I was making the request I was thinking "mmm, I really would have liked to quote the bit of the lyrics about the cigarettes instead" cause SIRIUS/LILY + SMOKING = HELLO, MY NEW KINK.

No, seriously, thank you, you have no idea how crazy I am about this pairing and how hard it is to find fic and the main reason why I was so excited about this ficathon is cause my mind was going maybe I could bribe someone to write me Sirius/Lily. And not only did you write my prompt but you write exactly what I wanted and didn't know I wanted, and this is totally the Sirius and Lily in my head and OH WHY HAVE YOU SEEN INTO MY SOUL LIKE THIS? XD

And that last paragraph? Which is perfect and I could write novels based on it and how Sirius and Lily hooking up would never be surprising cause it's sort of a natural progression.

Oh my god, this is probably one of the most beautiful things I've ever read. You should really post them to the harryhermione livejournal because more people need to read this.

I really like the metaphor of the "war" Harry is talking about is also the war within himself of trying to keep happy and fighting his feelings for her.

This is exquisite! The little details... the torment, the pretense... THEM! I hurt. And I thank you for it.

I've actually never written Lily before? At all? So I kind of just went with it, and rolled with it. I really, really love all permutations of Sirius/Remus/Lily/James, and so when I saw this prompt I decided to bite the bullet and try it.

And when I saw your prompt and the cigarette part of the lyrics I was BANKING that you wouldn't be horribly disappointed.

I'm just so, so glad this wasn't a major disappointment. :D

seriously, things i am thinking about writing: cho backstory because I NEED TO KNOW HOW CHO THINKS OF HERSELF AND WHETHER OR NOT SHE THINKS OF HERSELF AS CHINESE-BRITISH AND WHETHER OR NOT THE FIRST PART OF THE HYPHEN IS IMPORTANT. i mean, she commits herself to the mission. she's in ravenclaw, the mission to some extent isn't as much a huge part of her arc as it is supposed to be for gryffindors. and like, i just want to know what her parents think about this and what she and the patils and the other poc think about this war because it is a war being fought against the 'other,' the muggles who have no magical bloodlines, but on the other hand, they're othered in a completely different way. it has to impact the way they view the fight. it has to.
