Harry Potter Non-Canon Ships Comment Ficathon

THE RULES ARE THUS:

1. WHAT MAKES A NON-CANON SHIP? Anything that is not at least one-sided in the books. This means that Snape/Lily is canon, even if she may (or may not) have ever reciprocated. Bellatrix/Voldemort is canon. Lavendar/Ron is canon. Obviously everyone who's married and/or dates is canon. OBHWF is canon, Harry/Cho is canon. Ships that are not stated as fact in the books are not canon. That means UC ships are good, slash is good, femslash is good. For our purposes, we are not counting JKR's interviews as canon. That means that if you wanted to prompt, say, who knows, Hannah/Neville, you could, because it's not in the text itself.

2. You leave a comment with a pairing and a prompt. You respond to prompts that you like. Your prompt must pertain to a non-canon ship. You may specify a character within that ship if you want the fic written from that characters perspective. You may also specify a timeline if you'd like, or if you want it to take place in the movie!verse.

3. When writing fic, put in your title SHIP - TITLE OF FIC (rating optional). This will help us archive if we later archive things. I don't have time to archive anything right now, but if someone wants to volunteer, we can make that happen.

4. LEAVE FEEDBACK. Comments are the lifeblood of the internet.

5. NO WANK. I'll delete your ass. And we're dealing with ships and I am deletion happy, so watch yourself.

6. There will be spoilers for the movie all over this post, I am sure. You have been warned.

I loved this. I'm not usually an H/Hr shipper, but I love things like this because it's just them being friends and needing someone. (At least that's how I interpreted it.) It was beautiful. I am sure that they did share something like this while Ron was away. They were both hurting.

“Granger,” he gasps desperately, stretching out his pale hand as if to touch her, “Hermione.” She recoils as if burned even before his fingertips manage to brush her cheek. He lets his hand fall so that it hangs uselessly at his side. He almost wants to reach out again, but the look of disgust on her face might kill him if he has to see it again.

“Don’t touch me!” she hisses, voice low and dangerous. Flames dances in her eyes as if she’s burning up from the inside out.

She’s always on fire.

The knowledge that he’ll never be good enough for her sears a path through his chest.

Really, though, he’s the one that’s burning up.

This is heart-breaking and lovely. I can see Neville, Ginny, and Harry all so clearly here-- I can just see this happening. My heart breaks for Harry, who really might be broke beyond repair after all the crap he's had to face. It breaks for Ginny who needs more than he can give. It breaks for Neville, who knows that this is what he should have had for real, and not just these secret interludes. Beautiful.

Oh my word-- so achingly sad and grim but yet not completely hopeless. Love it.

"I really can't stay."

The wind whistles as her hands fall from his robes, her breaths coming in clouds in the wintry air. The bridge's tunnel is dark but he can focus just fine. His icy fingers turn her face toward him.

"We should wait until the weather slows."

"I need to study," she says, stern as ever, but there's a glint in her eyes that makes his stomach turn and he pulls her in for another hard, rough kiss. Her mouth presses back into his and her fingers are latched onto his lapels again and his hips settle into hers. She moans softly, pawing at his shirt and burying her hands under his blazer as their tongues entwine and explore each other's mouths. The wind picks up, blowing their hair around one another's faces and Draco grips her waist tight, soaking up her warmth, revelling in the scent of her bushy curls.

"Draco," she says against his mouth, slowly moving her hands up to his face, "I really must go back, I've got pages of parchment..."

Pages of Weazelbee's parchment, more like, he thinks with disdain, frowning at her. She smiles faintly and pulls at his scarf, standing on the tips of her toes to whisper in his ear.

"I'll stay longer next time."

Draco cups her face, smoothing his thumb across her lips as he whispers back, "Do you promise?"

"I do," she says softly. She takes one of his hands and kisses his knuckles. "Library next time though. It's too cold outside."
