Harry Potter Non-Canon Ships Comment Ficathon

THE RULES ARE THUS:

1. WHAT MAKES A NON-CANON SHIP? Anything that is not at least one-sided in the books. This means that Snape/Lily is canon, even if she may (or may not) have ever reciprocated. Bellatrix/Voldemort is canon. Lavendar/Ron is canon. Obviously everyone who's married and/or dates is canon. OBHWF is canon, Harry/Cho is canon. Ships that are not stated as fact in the books are not canon. That means UC ships are good, slash is good, femslash is good. For our purposes, we are not counting JKR's interviews as canon. That means that if you wanted to prompt, say, who knows, Hannah/Neville, you could, because it's not in the text itself.

2. You leave a comment with a pairing and a prompt. You respond to prompts that you like. Your prompt must pertain to a non-canon ship. You may specify a character within that ship if you want the fic written from that characters perspective. You may also specify a timeline if you'd like, or if you want it to take place in the movie!verse.

3. When writing fic, put in your title SHIP - TITLE OF FIC (rating optional). This will help us archive if we later archive things. I don't have time to archive anything right now, but if someone wants to volunteer, we can make that happen.

4. LEAVE FEEDBACK. Comments are the lifeblood of the internet.

5. NO WANK. I'll delete your ass. And we're dealing with ships and I am deletion happy, so watch yourself.

6. There will be spoilers for the movie all over this post, I am sure. You have been warned.

I played with this idea for a bit, but feel like one could keep going with it in all kinds of different ways. I'd love to see other people take a stab at it.

When we were broken and shattered, we fit together like jigsaw puzzle pieces. Now that each of us is healed and whole, we no longer fit together. We are each a completed puzzle, a finished picture - and I am Picadilly Circus while he is the rolling Scottish hills.

Ron and I…our chemistry was because we were so different. We bickered and argued and that kept things exciting, but was too wearying in the end. Harry and I…our chemistry came from comfort and understanding; in so many ways we were so similar. We went through hell together and that let us heal safely in each other's company, but without the to-do list of a Dark Lord to defeat the boredom sets in.

Slowly drifting apart from Ron over time was hard enough, and he was only our best friend, excepting each other, of course. How do you navigate drifting apart from your best-friend-turned-lover?

I'm not the woman at 22 I was at 18. I could keep up the charade for now, live with the empty but comfortable silence that lays heavy between us, but I know that the girl who sacrificed her childhood by 14 and the woman I will be at 28 deserve far more than this. Harry's happy to finally be at home and happy and loved, but I still have restless feet and an insatiable thirst for more experiences, more knowledge, more…everything.

I want to wish…I want to wish that there was something we could do together, some problem to solve. We were always best when we had some kind of objective. I want to wish we had a quest, a mission, a meaning and purpose outside of just sitting and enjoying one another's company, because that sadly doesn't seem to be enough for me. But I can't apologize for us doing a damn fine job of saving the world the first time around.
