Harry Potter Non-Canon Ships Comment Ficathon

THE RULES ARE THUS:

1. WHAT MAKES A NON-CANON SHIP? Anything that is not at least one-sided in the books. This means that Snape/Lily is canon, even if she may (or may not) have ever reciprocated. Bellatrix/Voldemort is canon. Lavendar/Ron is canon. Obviously everyone who's married and/or dates is canon. OBHWF is canon, Harry/Cho is canon. Ships that are not stated as fact in the books are not canon. That means UC ships are good, slash is good, femslash is good. For our purposes, we are not counting JKR's interviews as canon. That means that if you wanted to prompt, say, who knows, Hannah/Neville, you could, because it's not in the text itself.

2. You leave a comment with a pairing and a prompt. You respond to prompts that you like. Your prompt must pertain to a non-canon ship. You may specify a character within that ship if you want the fic written from that characters perspective. You may also specify a timeline if you'd like, or if you want it to take place in the movie!verse.

3. When writing fic, put in your title SHIP - TITLE OF FIC (rating optional). This will help us archive if we later archive things. I don't have time to archive anything right now, but if someone wants to volunteer, we can make that happen.

4. LEAVE FEEDBACK. Comments are the lifeblood of the internet.

5. NO WANK. I'll delete your ass. And we're dealing with ships and I am deletion happy, so watch yourself.

6. There will be spoilers for the movie all over this post, I am sure. You have been warned.

It's not much, but here's a little something.

He thinks this is the worst time she could possibly choose to kiss him, with the world seeming to collapse around them, but it might be the best as well - the last. The students rushing around them and the sounds of battle outside fade as Neville's senses are consumed with Ginny. She's pulling on his collar in an attempt to get closer, and Neville wraps his arms around her back, pulling her to him.

He's so wrapped up in the kiss, it takes him a moment to notice that she's pulling away. He's suddenly reminded that there isn't time for this and the reality of the situation pulls them down again like a weight around their necks. "Just in case," is all she says, smiling sadly at him. Neville can't think of anything to say, he just does his best to memorize everything about her - about this moment.

Just in case.

When he first suggests it, they both stare at him like he's crazy, eyes wide and mouths agape. He smiles nervously at them, wishing he could take it back.

“Forget it, I don't know what I was thinking.” They drop the subject happily and the matter is forgotten.

When she brings it up again, Harry smiles indulgently and they both look at Ron expectantly. He splutters indignantly, trying to think of the words to say. When none come, Hermione changes the subject, and things go back to normal.

They are sitting at the kitchen table in Grimmauld Place finishing their ritual Friday night dinner in companionable silence when Ron finishes it.

“Yes.” Ron says. They both know exactly what he's talking about, and the three smile at each other. They quickly finish eating and hurry to clean up.

Once they finish the dishes, they instinctively climb the stairs to Harry's bedroom. The three sit in awkward silence for a moment before Hermione laughs quietly, and leans in to kiss Harry. From then on, there is no stopping them, they become a tangle of limbs and a pile of clothes form at the end of the bed.

As they begin to fall asleep, the boys wrapped around their girl, sleepy smiles form on their faces. Hermione wonders why they didn't do this sooner, it seems so obvious now. She and Ron never fit together perfectly, not without Harry. Lying in Harry's bed with both boys cuddled up next to her, she smiles, knowing that the puzzle is finally complete.

Scorpius/Albus Severus; Didn't even put up a fight, didn't even make a sound

Helga Hufflepuff/Salazar Slytherin - we're really not that different

Not sure if this is what you're looking for. It turned out a lot more Padma than Dean.

Padma had never truly understood what motivated people to fight as fiercely as they did until her seventh year. She'd joined Dumbledore's Army in fifth year because it was the right thing to do (and because of that awful Umbridge woman). But she'd never felt truly invested, not until now.

She wanted to explode with rage on an almost daily basis, and she might have, if she had not been smart enough to know that it wouldn't do any good. The thought that Dean was out there, being hunted like an animal, inspired emotions in her that she didn't know she was capable of having.

So she worked, for hours upon hours, perfecting every spell and charm and curse she knew, and learning several new ones - because she understood. She wanted to hurt them like they made her hurt every day, like they made her sister hurt. She wanted them to be afraid like Dean and all those like him, to suffer as they'd made the ones she loved suffer.

At the end, she fought as ferociously as anyone, as though her wand had become the conductor of all the pent-up rage she'd been nursing over the past year. When it was nearly over, she saw him finally, finally, and the rage inside her disappeared in an instant. He and Parvati were fighting off a pair of Death Eaters, and Padma knew in that moment that they wouldn't have to fight anymore.

She had never felt more relieved in her entire life.
